The China Civil Airport Association said 29 domestic airlines had failed to pay on time RMB4.2 billion ($61.7 million) in airport charges by the end of October this year.

The Shanghai Morning Post reported that most of the payments were delayed for at least three months, and some for a year.

The China Civil Airports Association lists 29 domestic aviation companies that have not paid up their airport fees this year, with the defaulted sum
of 17 airports reaching RMB4.2 billion ($615 million) up until October
of this year, according to today's edition of National Business Daily.

The list includes the private-owned UEAIR, as well as China Eastern Airlines, and Hainan Airlines as the top three offenders.

The association regards these three companies' unpaid airport fees amount to 40% of the total amount in the past over three months.

The association named some the country's biggest airlines  — China Southern, China Eastern and Air China  — on its official website, but later withdrew it.
