Audi to recall 35,000 cars in China due to fuel injection problems

35,000 of the 80,000 cars to be recalled by the Audi luxury division of German automaker Volkswagen (VLKAY.OTCMKTS) will come from China, Bloomberg reported, citing an e-mailed statement from the company. Audi said that due to issues with the fuel injection system, “in rare cases customers may notice a smell of fuel in affected vehicles” made between April 2011 and April 2012. State news agency Xinhua, citing the national quality watchdog for Audi’s biggest market, reported that Volkswagen’s joint local venture will begin the recall on March 20, affecting a variety of models.
