3G users in China top 7 million

December 2, 2009: China's 3G users numbered 7 million by the end of September. Li Li from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology confirmed mobile phone users in China now number over 700 million.

China mobile phone userAccording to statistics from China's three major operators (China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom), in October, China Mobile's TD SCDMA users had reached 2.31 million; China Unicom's WCDMA users had totaled 1.02 million.
 
Since the launch of 3G on January 7, 2009, the three major operators have completed the construction of networks, with China Telecom covering 324 cities, China Unicom 285 cities and China Mobile 238 cities.
 
People's Daily Online reported that China's 3G users numbered 7 million by the end of September. Li Li from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said mobile phone users in China number 700 million.

Therefore 1% of mobile users are already using 3G.
