Shanghai people live longer

The average life span for the registered male population Shanghai is 79.42 years, up from the previous year's 79.06, while females had a mean figure of 84.06 years up from 83.5.
Even allowing for a margin of  error  these  longevity figures just published by the Shanghai Health Bureau are astounding.

Well-off Chinese travel to Taiwan for nip and tuck

A new wave of affluent Chinese are eager to fit some nips and tucks into their trips to Taiwan, where they can expect to find better medical staff and facilities than back home.
Typically they pay $3,150 on average for a nine-day trip covering sightseeing and cosmetic enhancements, according to the Kaohsiung Aesthetic Medical Tourism Promotion Association.
ETN reports that Chen Chun-ting, secretary-general of the association, which plans to host three 100-member Mainland groups in January, "The demand from China is much higher than what we'd expected, and the visitors just keep coming in."
