Chinese apps for iPhones booming

Three iPhone developers who are primarily engaged in making travel-based applications which gives them an international audience, are doing well.

Truth Soft Studio –  makers of The Forbidden City app have produced both an interactive map and audio guide for visitors to Beijing's historic, sprawling Forbidden City palace complex.

Explore Metro –  makers of Explore Shanghai, Explore Beijing, Explore Guangzhou & Explore Hong Kong. Interactive subway maps are Explore Metro's speciality, and right now they have four apps covering the ever-expanding subway networks of four major Chinese cities.

Google, China possibly to solve dispute

37 robots to serve Shanghai World Expo

There will be robots at the Shanghai Expo and at Shanghai's two international airports.
 
Chu Jian, vice president of Zhejiang University, a key designer of the robots, said besides dancing and singing, the 1.55-meter tall robots, shaped after the Expo mascot Haibao, could "communicate" with visitors in six languages and take photos for them.
 
He added that the robots have touch screens on their chests to answer inquiries on road, public service and Expo information.
 
EnglishNews.cn reported the Haibao robots will be placed in Shanghai's two international airports and at the entrances of some major Expo venues.
