Ming Zu MING ZU

Summary profile
Ming Zu has extensive experience in corporate and commercial matters. He was a PRC Attorney at Law, founder member of the China International Economic Law Association and a University Lecturer of Law in China in the 1980s. After he obtained an LL.M. at the University of London in 1990 and passed the Law Society Final Examinations in 1993, he qualified as an English solicitor with a premier UK City law firm in London. He has since been acting for international investors doing business in China and been involved in numerous projects, especially in the area of FDI, M&A and financing, in a broad range of industrial sectors. His M&A experience covers the acquisition of and capital participation in both PRC private companies and State-owned enterprises, including PRC listed companies and financial institutions.

With respect to real estate, Ming's experience in China dates back 14 years to when he assisted various FIEs with investing in major industrial development zones in China and negotiated with all concerned authorities. Ming has also participated in several landmark real estate projects in Shanghai, for instance, providing due diligence services to a leading Chinese real estate developer on its large investment project in Huaihai Road.

Ming's real estate experience includes the structuring, due diligence, documentation and negotiation with land authorities of real estate transactions to acquire existing properties, land use rights for property development, and equity interests in local real estate companies.
