Lufthansa Airlines plans to expand its services to China despite the downturn in the aviation industry, reported China Daily. The chief executive of the German carrier, Jurgen Weber, said the Chinese economy and its aviation market would keep growing. "By 2010, I hope Lufthansa can fly four planes a day to Beijing from German cities," he said.

Vietnam Airlines has launched a threetimes- a-week service between Hanoi and Kunming in Yunnan province. In September the carrier launched its first direct flights between Hanoi and Beijing and late next year it intends to start a service between Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai.
