Shanghai replans Nanjing Road

Shanghai has unveiled an ambitious face-lift project for the eastern part of its principal shopping street, Nanjing Road, Shanghai Daily News said. The plan, drawn up by the consultancy firm McKinsey & Co, envisages splitting the street into three sections, starting at the Bund with Heritage Nanjing Road, which will target foreign tourists. The other two sections will be Cosmopolitan Shanghai, containing world-class malls and boutiques, and one centred on the Grand Cinema that will focus on entertainment.
