Yellow River damming successful

The damming of the Yellow River for the construction of the Shapotou water control project in Ningxia was completed in November, Xinhua reported. The project is a key element of the plan to develop China's western region and will cost Yn1.3bn. When completed, it will have the capacity to irrigate 89,000 hectares of farmland.
