Philips opens new facilities

Royal Philips Electronics has formally opened two new facilities in Shanghai to manufacture flat glass for the liquid crystal display and optical storage activities of its components division. Located in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, the new factories will employ 250 people and utilise state-of-theart LCD manufacturing equipment. They will be capable of producing up to 120,000 sets of coupled glass per month.
