Sony to build new plant at Wuxi

Japanese consumer electronics giant Sony will build a US$78m semiconductor assembly plant in China, Nihon Keizai Shimbun said. The location is likely to be Wuxi, Jiangsu province, where Sony already produces notebook computers. Semi-finished chips will be brought from Sony's plants in Japan and completed for use in digital cameras and Sony's Playstation II game console.
