China aims to double software share

China aims to boost its share of the world software market from the current 1.2 per cent to 3 per cent by 2005, Xinhua reported. Chen Chong, president of the China Software Industry Association, was quoted as saying that the value of China's software market was expected to grow to Yn250bn by 2005, including annual exports of Yn3bn.

China's total software sales were worth Yn33bn in 2001, a year-on-year increase of 38.7 per cent, the news agency added.
