China advises North Korean bankers

A delegation of officials from the North Korean central bank is in China studying commercial banking reform, according to the Financial Times. They arrived in August for three months of on-the-job training in China's big four state-owned commercial banks, learning how to operate a commercial banking system. Their host, the People's Bank of China, denied knowledge of the delegation, but officials at the commercial banks confirmed their presence.
