Taiwanese company heads list of top exporters

A subsidiary of the Taiwanese computer parts maker Honhal Electronics was China's top
exporter in 2002, according to the Ministry of Commerce. Foxconn exported US$4.3 8bn of
goods, putting it far ahead of Motorola in second place with exports of US$2.8bn. Sinochem
was the top mainland-owned company on the list, with exports of US$1 .8bn putting it in
fourth place. Private Chinese enterprises were increasingly well represented this year, led
by Guangdong computer parts maker Shunde Start Electronics in 18th place.
