China becomes leading exporter to Japan

China has become the largest exporter of goods to Japan - overtaking the US for the first time since the end of the Second World War, said South China Morning Post. It exported US$61.7bn-worth of goods to Japan last year, compared with the US's export total of US$57.6bn.

first in Hong Kong"There were a few milestones we expected this year," said Morgan Stanley economist Andy Xie Guozhong. "One is that China would become the second-largest exporter to the US, and that China would exceed Japan in total exports. This is the third milestone."
