Trade sets blistering pace

China's foreign trade growth continued to burn fiercely in July, rising 32.8 per cent year-on-year to US$74.6bn, according to customs bureau figures. Exports for the first seven months of the year rose 33 per cent to US$228bn, while imports in the same period were up nearly 43 per cent to reach US$222bn. Electronic exports rose 41 per cent between January and July to stand at US$115.4bn.
First-half trade figures for IT products told a similar story, with exports of these goods surging 47 per cent to US$56.9bn. Imports of IT products, however, grew even faster, jumping 55 per cent to US$55.4bn.
