Toy exports to recover from Sars impact

China's toy exports are expected to exceed US$10bn in 2003, following last year's record US9.9bn, Beijing Science and Technology Newssaid. The forecast was made by the president of the China Toy Association, to publicise an exhibition of toys, models and gifts to be held in Shanghai this month. Export growth has recovered from the impact of Sars in May and June of this year and is likely to set a new record.

China is the world's largest manufacturer, producing 75 per cent of the global total.
