Warner Brothers to set up 10 multiplexes

US film giant Warner Brothers has expanded its investment in the Chinese film theatre business by signing contracts with two Shanghai-based companies, state media reported. The contracts with Shanghai Film Group and Shanghai United Circuit are linked to plans to open 10 multiplex theatres across the country. These include a US$3m eight-screen theatre expected to open in Nanjing in January and a US$2.4m eight-screen cinema in Wuhan.

Earlier this year,Warner was the first foreign firm to buy a stake in a Chinese theatre.
