Party members flee

Almost 15,000 Communist Party members and cadres fled the country or went missing in the first half of last year, according to media reports.

Without naming sources for the information, reports said that in the first six months of last year, 6,528 party members and cadres became "unaccounted for", a total of 8,371 fled abroad and 1,252 committed suicide.

Guangdong, Henan and Fujian had the highest number of disappearing cadres.
