Beijing imports up, exports down

Beijing recorded a 38.8% year-on-year increase in imports in January and February this year, while exports slipped slightly, according to customs statistics. The Chinese capital imported US$10.35 billion in goods during the two-month period. Exports slid 0.6% year-on-year during the same period, totaling US$2.35 billion. Trade between Beijing and Taiwan grew 120% during the two-month period, reaching US$139 million, with US$122 million of imports and US$17 million in exports.
