China announced that it plans to launch a two-year "food security credibility network" in April. The network is aimed at reducing food poisoning in China, which killed 20 and sickened at least 462 on the mainland in February. The network will first be established in five cities and through the China Cereals Association, the China Meat Association and China Children's Food Association. An official at the State Food and Drug Administration said that the network would be expanded to other parts of the country once proven effective.
