Xiamen Airlines and Taiwan-based Trans Asia Airways signed a cooperation agreement to offer cross-Strait travel packages that will primarily target Taiwan business travelers operating on the mainland. Xiamen Airlines said that the agreement is part of a drive to make Xiamen, a city in Fujian province, the number three transit center for Taiwanese business travelers to the mainland after Hong Kong and Macau. The air services will operate under the so-called mini three links policy enacted by Taiwan in which direct trade, postal and shipping links were opened between the Taiwanese islands of Matsui and Kinmen and the mainland cities of Xiamen and Fuzhou in Fujian province.
