Dell eyes China top spot

US-based PC manufacturer Dell aims to be the number one seller in the Chinese market within a few years, CEO Michael Dell said during a visit to Beijing. In an interview with state media Dell said the company would boost its 8.5% market share significantly within a few years. �We see a huge market potential in the coming years,� he said, pointing to China's lifting of trade barriers in accordance with WTO membership. Dell saw China shipments of its desktop and laptop units rise 50% in the first quarter of 2004.
