Matsushita jobs moving abroad

Matsushita Electric Industrial plans to transfer more production to China and Malaysia and cut as many as 3,000 jobs in Japan by sending employees into early retirement. The manufacturer plans to produce more low-cost goods abroad but will keep higher-value production in Japan. Recent cost cuts have brought the firm back to profitability after two years of losses.
