McCain plans french fry factory

Canada-based McCain Foods announced plans to construct a US$42.3 million french fry factory in Harbin, Heilongjiang province. The planned factory has a projected capacity to handle 7.5 tons of potatoes per hour and is scheduled to begin production in late 2005. Factory products will be sold to fast food chains in China and exported to other Asian countries.
