China Power International Development said it would more than double capital outlays in 2005 and spend more in 2006 to fund construction of three power plants in Anhui, Henan and Hubei provinces. CPI aims to raise HK$2.39 billion (US$306.4 million) to HK$2.96 billion from its scheduled flotation in Hong Kong. The expansion bill could come to nearly RMB 14 billion, most of which would be raised through debt issues.
