Anheuser-Busch denies Golden Star interest

Despite persistent reports that Budweiser brand owner Anheuser-Busch could pay US$1 billion for a stake in Golden Star Beer Group, China's fifth ranked brewer, the US brewer said it had not had any discussions with the Henan-based company. In June, Anheuser-Busch, which owns 9.9% of top China brewer Tsingtao, beat shareholder SABMiller to take control of Harbin Brewery Group for US$663 million.
