Mainland insurers make gains on Taiwan

Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council agreed in principle to allow mainland insurers to open offices on the island, a move that could open the field for mainland banks and securities firms to enter Taiwan. The council's decision clears the way for insurance regulators to submit specific proposals.
