1Q auto imports decline

Official statistics showed auto-related imports, including vehicles, parts and components, dropping 44% in the first quarter from a year ago to US$2.8bn, a trend analysts attribute to new rules stipulating the sale of imported vehicles through authorized dealers and to China's rising production of domestic vehicles, state media reported.
