China to raise diesel prices

After deferring diesel price increases fearing unrest from farmers who use a lot of the fuel in spring planting, Beijing has decided to raise producer prices by US$18 per tonne May 17, state media reported. Less than two months ago, authorities raised the producer price of gasoline due to rising crude oil prices.
