Gang of Four member dies

Zhang Chunqiao, one of China's notorious Gang of Four blamed for the violence and persecutions during the 1966-76 Cultural Revolution, died at the age of 88 April 21, according to Xinhua, which did not explain the reporting delay. The arrest of the Gang of Four enabled Deng Xiaoping and other reformers to come forth and initiate China's economic reforms.
