China rejects EU shoe probe

China vigorously opposes an EU anti-dumping investigation into its shoe exports, state media reported Monday. Beijing accused Brussels of causing trade friction by doctoring trade statistics, media reported. A Commerce Ministry spokesman called the probe lacking a practical or legal basis and urged the EU with which China recently resolved a textile dispute to stick to the facts and take measured decisions that do not inflame relations over shoes.
