CNOOC fights anti-China bias on Unocal

The China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) is under mounting pressure to win support in the US Congress that increasingly is opposed to its bid to buy California energy firm Unocal, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing company officials and lawmakers. The mood in Congress has become rancorous about the Chinese takeover bid for Unocal, trumping the bid by Chevron that still might make a higher offer. Lawmakers are proposing resolutions, potential prohibitive laws and special hearings to thwart CNOOC�S Unocal aims.
