Burger King comes to PRC

Burger King, one the three largest US fast food chains, has opened its first China outlet in Shanghai, entering the mainland market 15 years after its rivals McDonald's and KFC. Burger King plans to open 10 outlets in the east China region within the next 12 months, and last month, Burger King opened a center to train staff and future franchise owners. According to new government regulations, fast food companies cannot sell franchises until they have operated in the mainland market for at least one year.
