Shanghai will build an offshore wind-power station in the next five years with a designed capacity of 100,000kw, making it the largest offshore wind-driven power station in the nation, state media reported. The government is inviting bids for the project, and said the investment would be returned in 10-20 years, without citing the exact cost of the project. Offshore wind-power stations cost twice as much as the already expensive onshore stations.
