China to combat obesity

China will combat a growing obesity problem by standardizing nutritional regulations and by raising awareness of the medical dangers of obesity, state media reported. In China's larger, wealthier cities like Shanghai and Beijing, severe obesity affects 16-20% of the youth. At least 200m people in China will suffer from obesity within ten years if current trends of fast food eating and sedentary lifestyles continue.
