Beijing halts construction of 32 power projects

Beijing stopped the construction of 32 power projects located in Henan, Ningxia and Inner Mongolia because they did not comply with environmental and land-use regulations and because Beijing wanted to avoid overinvestment in generating capacity, Bloomberg reported, citing the National Development and Reform Commission. More than US$10m had already been spent on the projects which had a total capacity of 17.1m kw.
