China, Indonesia sign deals

Indonesian companies signed billions of dollars in energy deals with their Chinese counterparts on the sidelines of a state visit by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to Beijing last week, Dow Jones reported, citing the Economics Ministry. The projects include a US$2.1bn coal-fueled power plant in Muara Enim in South Sumatra, a US$1.1bn 1,320-MW coal-fueled plant at Tanjung Jati, a power plant in central Java, and a crude oil refinery project between PT Pertamina and Sinopec. Five agreements were signed, ranging from defense co-operation to Chinese language-teaching, state media reported.
