Japan made a fresh protest against China on Wednesday over a disputed energy field in the East China Sea, saying that Beijing may be set to pump gas out of the area, the Standard of Hong Kong reported. China last month protested Japan's decision to give permission to Tokyo-based Teikoku Oil to explore the disputed area. It was the first company to be granted a permit since Japan decided in April to open the area to drilling, ending decades of hesitation.
