Volkswagen plans China eco-car

Volkswagen will develop, assemble and sell a gasoline-electric hybrid minivan in China, the International Herald Tribune reported. The new vehicle, which will be a version of its existing Touran van, will begin marketing at the 2008 Olympics. It is the first time Volkswagen had confirmed it is working on such a project.
