Crude imports decline

China imported 8.76 million tons of crude in August, a drop of 6.1% from a year ago as the country's SOEs were reluctant to make up the price difference between local and international products, the Wall Street Journal reported. Crude imports rose 3.9% over the first 8 months of 2005.
