Following the UN meeting in New York, foreign ministers of India, Russia and China held a meeting in which they pledged to work together on the Iranian nuclear issue, according to press reports. Russia opposed an EU initiative at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna to bring Iran before the UN Security Council over its nuclear projects. Russia, India and China all have significant energy trade with Iran. The new trio will seek to act as a counterweight to the EU's UK-France-Germany Iran group.
