US blasts China for IP infringement

Copyright and trademark infringement in China is worse than ever, Jonathan Dudas, US under secretary of commerce for intellectual property told the AP in Shanghai. "The percentage is growing; also the dollar figure is rising," he said. Valued at US$87.3 million, and representing 63% of all counterfeit goods seized by US Customs, China was the worst offender in 2004. Russia was a poor second with 5% of all US Customs false trademark seizures.
