US embassy warns of attacks

Chinese authorities warned that Islamic extremists might be planning an attack on luxury hotels in China over the next week, according to the website of the American Embassy in Beijing. Security was already in full force in Beijing where police and soldiers are on guard. The warnings come ahead of visits by two prominent US politicians. President George W Bush is due to be in Beijing Nov 19-21, while California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will embark on a four-day trip next week, starting in the capital.
