APEC agenda: Trade, flu, terrorism

The Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation talks, taking in views of 21 Pacific Rim economies, will focus on liberalizing world trade, combating bird flu and coordinating anti-terrorism efforts. Few expect a breakthrough on trade after deadlocks occurred in separate negotiations. The US and South Korea agreed to work towards replacing the armistice that ended the Korean War with a peace treaty to reduce tensions.
