WHO praises bird flu response

Henk Bekedam, the director of World Health Organization in China, praised Beijing's bird flu containment measures as "almost textbook," reported AFP. The virus has killed one woman, likely claimed the life of a girl and infected a boy who has since recovered. China has the world's biggest poultry industry, with billion of chickens living in cramped conditions close to humans.
