Polluted water poisons 34

Water from a local river in Yingde city in Guangdong province poisoned 34 people who were taken to hospital suffering stomach pains and vomiting after drinking the water, state media reported. The source of the contamination was traced to mineral processing factories, the Xinhua news agency reported without elaborating. China's waterways are regarded as among the world's most polluted.
