Nokia to expand handset production

Mobile phone maker Nokia said it would invest US$14 million in China to expand its handset production there in order to boost capacity to meet surging demand in Asia, according to media reports. Nokia said it would nearly double the floor space at its Dongguan factory with expanded production to begin in the third quarter of 2006 and add 800 workers to its 1,100 staff. Nokia employs nearly 6,000 people in China.
