Tigers at risk from toxic spill

Siberian tigers face threats from the toxic benzene slick headed toward the Amur River from its tributary the Songhua after a chemical factory explosion China, AP reported. The World Wide Fund for Animals has expressed concern about the effects of the spill and called for stricter monitoring of chemicals. The area is also the habitat of leopards, bears, musk deer and dozens of types of fish. There are some 500 Siberian tigers at large in Russia, according the New York-based Wildlife Conservation Society.
