Boeing to set-up MRO base in Shanghai

Boeing is expected to set up the first foreign-controlled aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) base in China in the first half of 2006, state media reported. Boeing China President David Wang said the US-based company would invest over US$100 million for a 50% stake in the base, which will be sited in Shanghai. Shanghai Airlines and Shanghai Airport Authority would hold the remaining shares, with the joint venture now waiting for final government approval.
